MBC’s Spotlight Charity for December

At MBC we’re dedicated to making a positive impact in our communities by helping individuals, families and organizations that make a huge impact in the lives of many throughout Michigan. One of the ways we raise money is with Friday Casual Days. Every month MBC employees have the opportunity to pay monies for the privilege of wearing blue jeans or other casual attire on Fridays.

The spotlight charity for the month is Heart of the Holidays

Heart of the Holidays is a new initiative created by Volunteers of America Michigan (VOAMI). The holiday assistance program will help children, seniors and veterans by providing toys and clothing and something else equally essential: hope.

We are partnering with organizations in Detroit, Grand Rapids and Lansing to distribute holiday gifts to families with children in need. By partnering with other Michigan social service agencies, Heart of the Holidays will be able to focus on serving more children than in the past. Without the help of Volunteers of America Michigan, these partnering organizations would not be able to provide holiday assistance to families in need.

The program is also open with limited availability to families who live within a 20-mile radius of the VOAMI Southfield headquarters and can show proof of income and need for assistance. Volunteers of America Michigan will still continue to provide holiday assistance to veterans and seniors currently enrolled in the nonprofit’s programs.
