At MBC we’re dedicated to making a positive impact in our communities by supporting individuals, families and organizations that make a meaningful difference throughout Michigan. One of the ways we give back is through our Casual for Charity program. Each month, MBC employees have the opportunity to donate for the privilege of wearing jeans during the week and enjoying more casual attire on Fridays. It’s a fun and rewarding way to support great causes while enjoying a little extra comfort at work. MBC’s February Charity is Gift of Life Michigan.

Mission

Gift of Life Michigan’s mission statement is simply: “We honor life through donation.”

The organization operates as the state’s federally designated organ and tissue recovery program. To support this mission, their daily work is guided by the following principles:

• Core Purpose: Acting as a liaison 24/7/365 between donors, hospitals, and transplant centers to make lifesaving transplants possible.
• Core Values: Committing to being Determined, Compassionate, and Professional in every interaction with donor families and recipients.
• Community Resources: Partnering with the Michigan Secretary of State to maintain the Michigan Organ Donor Registry and providing grief and education support to donor families.
