MBC WILL BE CLOSED ON MONDAY, MAY 25, 2026 IN OBSERVANCE OF MEMORIAL DAY

At MBC we’re dedicated to making a positive impact in our communities by supporting individuals, families and organizations that make a meaningful difference throughout Michigan. One of the ways we give back is through our Casual for Charity program. Each month, MBC employees have the opportunity to donate for the privilege of wearing jeans during the week and enjoying more casual attire on Fridays. It’s a fun and rewarding way to support great causes while enjoying a little extra comfort at work. MBC’s April Charity is Forgotten Harvest.

For 35 years, Forgotten Harvest has battled food insecurity by redistributing surplus food.

In 1990, we set down roots in the greater metro Detroit area and began rescuing food surpluses from grocery stores, markets, restaurants, caterers, and more. We took the donated excess food and delivered it free-of-charge to emergency food providers in the metro Detroit area. Our work has since expanded to include Forgotten Harvest Farms, where we grow our own fresh food for those in need.

All the food we rescue and produce is delivered to metro Detroit families who are food-insecure and struggle to cover the cost of basic life necessities. Our food helps bridge the income gap for tens of thousands of people, allowing them to secure some basic life necessities for themselves and their family.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to relieving hunger in Metro Detroit and rescuing surplus, nutritious food.

Our Vision

We envision communities that work together to end hunger and increase individual, neighborhood, economic, and environmental health.
