Michigan Business Connection (MBC) is excited to welcome new hires, Brian Cherry, as Senior Relationship Manager, Susan Hurst as Senior Credit Analyst, and Sunny Aheer as Financial Analyst.

Brian Cherry joins MBC as a Senior Relationship Manager with primary responsibilities for commercial lending, relationship management, and business development. Brian started his financial career at First Liberty Financial as a team leader and loan officer. He has worked at several institutions and led the Midwest Region in sales production for three consecutive years at Wells Fargo. Most recently he was a senior commercial lender and vice president at First Community Bank. Brian earned his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts.

As a Senior Credit Analyst, Susan Hurst is responsible for obtaining and analyzing credit and financial data of individuals and/or firms to prepare reports related to commercial underwriting. She will determine the degree of risk in extending credit or lending money. Susan will evaluate collateral values of property, secure loans, and actively participate with current and prospective borrowers in the negotiation of loan structures and risk mitigation. Susan began her financial career at KeyBank in 1992 and subsequently worked at community and national banks in southeast Michigan in various underwriting and portfolio management roles. Susan holds a bachelor’s degree in managerial economics and financial administration from University of Michigan-Dearborn.

Sunny Aheer joins MBC as a Financial Analyst with primary responsibilities in analyzing credit, financial data, and preparing data for credit analysts and portfolio managers. Sunny began his financial career at Fifth Third Bank as a personal banker in 2020. He also has experience in accounts receivable and customer service. Sunny has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Wayne State University.
