MBC’s spotlight charity for the month of May is the Humane Society of Huron Valley.

For more than 120 years, the Humane Society of Huron Valley has been serving the community, saving animals and helping people. HSHV is still the only animal shelter in Washtenaw County, taking in all types of unwanted, injured, lost, stray, abandoned, and abused animals. Today, they help over 14,000 animals and their people every year. HSHV is governed by a board of directors and is supported by generous individual and corporate donors.

HSHV receives no money from any other humane organization and is not funded by United Way. HSHV is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization and donations to HSHV are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
