At MBC we’re dedicated to making a positive impact in our communities by helping individuals and families in need. We do this through our commitment to help support charities that make a huge impact in the lives of many throughout our Michigan communities. One of the ways we raise money is with Friday Casual Days. Every month MBC employees can pay $20 for the privilege of wearing blue jeans or other casual attire on Fridays.

Our spotlight charity for August is Angels of Hope.

Angels of Hope’s mission is to provide critical support to Michigan families directly impacted by cancer. Their goal is to help ease the burden caused by the disease, its treatment and its devastating effects – both financial and emotional. They tailor grant programs for each family they work with, so they receive help where they need it most. Angels of Hope has also developed a series of unique programs that provided emotional support to families coping with cancer. Some of the programs offered are the Financial Assistance Program, Smiles Program, and Holiday Program.

Sponsors and donations are helping throughout the community in many ways. They provide emergency assistance for rent/mortgage, utilities, food and insurance to Michigan families battling cancer. They have helped with things like ComfyChemo shirts- where children no longer have to remove their shirts during treatment, Santa’s Angels- always finding a way to make Christmas magic happen, and Gamers Outreach GoKarts- portable video gaming kiosks that can be rolled to a child’s hospital bed and they can “escape” from the boredom, stress and sadness that many experience.
