Cheryl joined MBC in January as MBC’s CFO. Her responsibilities will consist of leading financial reporting, regulatory compliance, risk management and all other accounting activities for MBC.

Cheryl has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Throughout her career her professional focus has been on finance and risk management. Prior to joining MBC, Cheryl was the Chief Information Officer at Main Street Bank. Cheryl also has extensive experience in commercial lending oversight, asset liability risk management and financial reporting. In previous roles, Cheryl has also served as Chief Financial Officer for Christian Financial Credit Union (CFCU).

Bill Beardsley, President/CEO, is excited to welcome Cheryl to MBC. “It’s not often that an organization has the opportunity to recruit someone that already has experience and a solid foundation of knowledge related to the position their hired for, but in this case that’s exactly what happened.” Beardsley goes onto say, “MBC’s known Cheryl for several years, dating back to when she was Christian Financial’s CFO and assisted MBC with financial reporting requirements during our initial years of operation.”

Cheryl earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Western Michigan University, a master’s degree in Finance from Walsh College and a Certificate of Public Accountancy. Cheryl has achieved various certifications in compliance, risk management and information security relative to the financial services industry. Cheryl and her husband live in Chesterfield, Michigan and enjoy spending time with her family and dogs.
