Michigan Business Connection (MBC) is excited to welcome Jessica Kempf as a Senior Credit Analyst.

Jessica’s hire marks the beginning of a remote deployment strategy for MBC, as her position will be based in the northern Michigan market. This new position was specifically created to provide credit unions in northern Michigan with access to a credit expert in their market.

In her position, Jessica will be responsible for underwriting existing and new credit relationship and will consult with credit unions on risk identification and mitigation.  Bill Beardsley, President/CEO of MBC stated, “As our network of credit unions in Michigan has grown and as the geography of our loan portfolio continues to expand it just made sense to hire someone that would be based in northern Michigan.” Beardsley goes onto say, “Commercial lending requires market risk awareness and intimacy.  Lend in the markets you know is a long-standing tenet with business credit.

Jessica is a Graduate of Davenport University and holds a bachelor’s Degree in Business.  Kempf began her career in the financial services industry in 1997 as a teller at Comerica Bank and quickly moved into commercial lending; working as a commercial credit analyst.  From 2000-2011 she held commercial lending positions at Comerica Bank in Detroit and Grand Rapids and at Macatawa Bank in Holland. In 2011 she moved into Commercial Credit as the Vice President of Credit at Founders Bank and Trust.

In 2013 Jessica and her family relocated to Traverse City, where she expanded her career into non-profit administration, working with various nonprofits including the National Cherry Festival, Bay Area Recycling for Charities and Traverse Bay Area Youth Soccer. Jessica is married with two children and one dog. In her free time, she enjoys knitting, snow skiing and driving her children to various sporting events.
