Michigan Business Connection (MBC) is excited to welcome three new Senior Lenders to its team. Jason Humes, John McCurdy, and Fred Harris join MBC with a collective 30 years of Commercial Lending and Relationship Management experience. Their experience will allow MBC to continue to provide the highest possible level of account and relationship management to its Credit Unions and to business borrowers. As Credit Union business lending has continued to grow so has the importance of having high caliber senior lenders that have a passion to build trusted relationships with their business borrowers, and MBC is dedicated to making sure its providing the right talent to answer that call.

Jason Humes started his commercial banking career in 2002. He has worked as a Relationship Manager with multiple financial institutions since that time. Jason is an Eastern Michigan University graduate with a Bachelors of Business Administration majoring in finance and a past EMU Finance Club President.  Jason utilizes his education; commercial banking and entrepreneurial experience to add meaningful value to his member relationships, focusing on assisting each member reach their goals while delivering a quality member experience.  As a Senior Relationship Manager for MBC Jason will work with existing MBC Members, prospective Members and Centers of Influence delivering business members financing to purchase or refinance commercial real estate, business equipment or working capital lines of credit to sustain and grow their businesses.   He is active in his local church currently serving as the Treasurer and a Foundation Board Governor and is also active in his community as a member of the Canton Chamber of Commerce.

John McCurdy’s commercial banking experience began in 2004. John comes to MBC from a local regional bank and has worked in the greater Southeast Michigan territory for his entire career.  In his last position, John won multiple awards being recognized as a top producer in 3 out of the last 4 years. John earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Olivet College and completed his MBA in 2006 from the University of Phoenix. John resides in Livonia, Michigan with his wife and two children.  Outside of work, John is the head wrestling coach for the Dearborn Heights Crestwood Chargers.  He is very active in his church, serves on the board of directors for the Hype Community center in Dearborn Heights and is a competitive Power-lifter and avid runner having won several power lifting competitions and having completed multiple marathons.

Fred Harris started his Banking career in 2012 at a regional bank, where he was accepted into their accelerated career development program while earning his MBA.  During that time, Fred became a top Relationship Manager and producer for numerous years. Prior to banking, Fred gained experience in corporate accounting with Deloitte, Small Business accounting and consulting at a smaller boutique firm, and business ownership and entrepreneurship experience while operating multiple independent pharmacies.  Fred graduated from Wayne State University where he earned his Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in finance and his Bachelor degree in Accounting. Fred resides in Macomb, Michigan and enjoys golf, being on the water, attending sporting events, and hunting.

MBC is also excited to welcome Amanda Kelly as an Administrative Assistant. In her new role, Amanda will support the Servicing Department and will provide additional support to the other departments as needed. Amanda’s administrative career started in 2000, but she most recently served as the Student Coordinator for the University of Phoenix in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Amanda obtained her Bachelors Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. Bill Beardsley, President/CEO of MBC commented, “This new hire is a reflection of MBC’s continued growth and success.
