MBC Announces Organizational Changes

MBC is pleased to announce several organizational changes that will be implemented over the next few months. These changes will help strengthen our ability to enable the highest quality financial success with commercial lenders and borrowers now and into the future.

First, Kirk Albert, our Chief Lending Officer, has decided to retire at the end of 2025. Kirk’s leadership has been instrumental to MBC’s success and growing our loan portfolio to over $2 billion in size. We thank him for his efforts and wish him well in his retirement.

To ensure a smooth transition with Kirk’s retirement, Mike Morrish has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking. In this role, Mike will lead all lending functions for MBC and join the senior leadership team.

In addition, there will be a reorganization of MBC’s operating structure. The structure will be consolidated into two core areas: lending and credit, and administration. This change is aimed at aligning all efforts from loan application to closing under a unified team to streamline and improve delivery and service. At the same time, the change will enable greater focus on innovation, growth and enhancing organizational performance.

Shannon Stchur, Chief Credit Officer, takes on the expanded accountability of leading the lending, credit and documentation teams. Mike Morrish will report to Shannon in his new capacity. Lisa Bradley has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Credit Administration and will also join the senior leadership team.

Todd Mason, Chief Operating Officer, takes on the expanded accountability of leading all non-lending functions, including finance and administration, loan servicing and technology. As part of this change, Cheryl Commyn, Chief Financial Officer, will report to Todd.

Both Shannon and Todd will report to Bill Beardsley, President and CEO of MBC, and will comprise the executive leadership team of the organization. Together with the changes above, they will drive MBC’s vision to be a leading lender in Michigan and deliver service excellence to lenders and borrowers.
